Harvard Global Case Competition Participation

From February 25th to March 7th

Members of the Plutus Student Fund took part in the Harvard Case Competition, an
event designed to tackle real-world business challenges. This year’s case focused on
IBM’s acquisition strategy to expand its cloud computing business, requiring
participants to conduct industry analysis, company valuation (DCF, sensitivity analysis,
and past transactions), and qualitative research. To develop a well-rounded solution,
members engaged with university academics to explore potential funding strategies
and conducted market research to assess the competitive landscape.

Throughout the competition, teams refined their strategic problem-solving and
presentation skills, structuring their findings into a compelling pitch for a panel of
industry analysts and academic judges. The feedback provided valuable insights into
the strengths and areas for improvement in their approach, preparing participants for
real-world financial and strategic decision-making.
